Background

I am an Independent Financial Planner specialising in ethical and sustainable investing, pensions and female-focused financial planning. Whilst these are my “sweet spots” I do not enforce my views on my clients and I do also work with men!

I spent 12 years in London, mostly working in project finance – placing debt into large infrastructure projects, including renewable energy projects such as wind and solar farms. I also spent three years in Commercial Banking in Northampton, working hard to support a large client base of small to medium sized companies. But I always dreamed of one day having my own venture…

Having realised that dream, I now help people to use their wealth to make a positive contribution by investing in a way that supports companies who are seeking ethical and sustainable solutions to global issues.

Working with me, you can be sure you are playing a part in preserving the planet for future generations, and using your capital to support important environmental and social improvements across the globe.

What make's emily happy?

What makes you happy at work?
Enlightening and empowering clients. I like to make clients feel good about the impact of their investments – not just on their personal wealth but also on other people and the planet.
What makes you happy outside of work?
Running with my Labrador, Percy, on a beautiful day. Watching my children play sport, supporting the Bedford Blues rugby team. Acting in amateur dramatics productions.
Where is your happy place?
In a bookshop, a theatre or library. In a pub with friends. Anywhere out in the countryside.
What motivated you to become a financial planner?
I wanted to change people’s lives and make them happier, not just wealthier. I also love to educate and empower people.
How do you know when you’ve done your job well?
Clients are truly surprised how much of my work is bespoke to them. I don’t just copy and paste, but I listen carefully to what clients want to achieve and what their values are, and I devise a plan that delivers on these.
What does a life well lived look like to you?
It’s about balance. Work hard, play hard. Also, I believe strongly in wellbeing being more important than wealth. Wealth is only one part of wellbeing and the bigger picture covers health – both mental and physical – and spiritual and social wellbeing. Wealth means nothing without health.
